Mayor Turner Celebrated Thanksgiving with People Exiting Homelessness


Houston is leading the nation in reducing homelessness and is a national model for other communities. Since Mayor Turner took office, more than 6,000 homeless individuals, veterans and families have been permanently housed with supportive services.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful but it is also a time to show compassion and help others in need. It allows us to open our eyes to see what really matters the most. Telling others what you are thankful for enlightens our view on how we are blessed and how we should share our blessings with others.
